Tiling is one of the most inspected finishes on a project. Errors are visible from the doorway: uneven level, inconsistent joints, lippage, stained grout, and falls that do not take water to the drain. These problems usually begin before the first tile is laid.

Substrate preparation and set-out decide the result. If the base is uneven or the layout is not planned around movement joints, edges, and visible sight lines, the finished surface will carry those mistakes. Wet areas also need correct falls. A floor that looks acceptable when dry can still hold water after use.

During laying, spacing, alignment, and level should be checked continuously, not only at the end. Grouting and cleaning are part of the quality standard, not a separate afterthought. A supervised tiling package includes inspection before handover so outstanding items are closed while the team is still on site.
